CAD-Earth
CAD‑Earth is a specialized AutoCAD/Civil 3D add‑on that connects CAD drawings with Google Earth, LiDAR, DEM, and other geospatial data sources. It lets you import satellite imagery, terrain meshes, and contour lines directly into CAD, and export CAD objects back to Google Earth or SketchUp for visualization.
Key Features of CAD‑Earth
- Image Import
- Import high‑resolution satellite, map, or hybrid images from Google, Bing, ESRI, Mapbox.
- Supports multiple resolutions (Normal → Highest).
- AI enhancement for sharper images (up to 4× upscaling).
- Preview before importing to ensure correct placement.
- Export to Google Earth
- Export CAD drawings as overlays (color, grayscale, B&W).
- Lines, polylines, arcs, circles, and points can be exported as polygons, routes, or placemarks.
- Export 3D solids, meshes, and regions with adjustable opacity.
- Terrain Mesh Import & Editing
- Import meshes from Google Earth, LiDAR, DEM, GeoTIFF, LandXML, XYZ text files.
- Edit vertices (insert, delete, move, adjust elevation).
- Insert break lines, flatten, or cut triangles.
- Export terrain meshes back to XYZ or GeoTIFF.
- Contour Lines & Profiles
- Generate contour lines instantly from terrain meshes.
- Customizable intervals, colors, labels, and smoothness.
- Dynamic updating when mesh or settings change.
- Create profiles, sections, and chainage annotations.
- Slope & Elevation Analysis
- Visualize terrain by slope zones or elevation ranges.
- Customizable color ramps and slope arrows.
- Predefined styles can be saved and reused.
- Cut & Fill Volume Calculations
- Perform earthwork volume calculations using grid methods.
- Generate detailed Excel reports with cut/fill areas, shrinkage, and topsoil depth.
- Georeferencing
- Supports 3,000+ coordinate systems worldwide.
- Preview entity positions on maps and align precisely.
- Real‑time move/scale/rotate of reference entities for accurate placement.
